Alcoholism Council of the Cincinnati Area, NCADD
This organization focuses on reducing problems related to alcoholism and other drug addictions through the delivery of treatment and prevention services. The Council has a wide range of programs that serve children, adolescents, families, women, older adults and persons with mental health disorders resulting in the abuse of various substances. Several programs are implemented in schools including Life Skills Training. This school-based prevention program is designed to significantly reduce the initiation of alcohol, tobacco and drug use among urban, minority middle school students. Conducted in Cincinnati Public and Hamilton County Schools, this program helps to strengthen communication skills, provides updated information about alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs, and gives the students an opportunity to discuss topics of concern.
