The Hamilton County Tobacco-Free Partnership is working hard to give youth the tools they need to prevent youth tobacco use. Our members work in schools and communities, utilizing evidence-based strategies to reduce tobacco use. These include:

• Educational programming in schools

• Tobacco Free School Policies

• Youth Access Restrictions – In Ohio, you must be 18 years old to buy or possess tobacco. Storeowners and community members should be diligent in preventing underage youth from purchasing or possessing tobacco products. If you know of a store in your community that sells tobacco to minors, please call (513) 946-7926.

• Tobacco Taxes Increases – Because younger smokers have low incomes, an increase in the cost of tobacco may cause youth to cut down on, quit, or never begin smoking.

To learn more about how the Partnership can help you, please call (513) 946-7926.
